I posted my third original song on YouTube last night. It's called"Worth the Wait." I usually don't write happy songs...not because I consider myself an unhappy person, I just feel more inspired when I'm angry:-)

I'm sorry the sound quality from my camera isn't the best:-( But, I just got back from the recording studio today, where I began professionally recording this song. I hope that you will like the professional version when it is finished!

My last post was asking for advice about the drum set I was getting. Thank you to all of you who gave me advice! So far I haven't broken my drum set yet:-)

I have a background in music...but not in percussion. I watched some YouTube videos (I know, not a replacement for an actual teacher) and figured out enough stuff to be able to write drum music for my song "Like They All Did". Fortunately, when I recorded this song in the studio, my boyfriend offered to play the drum parts:-)

I posted a new song, "Goodbye," and was hoping I could get some opinions about the instruments for the song. Do you think the song should be recorded with voice and guitar only (like the video), or do you think there should be a drum part?

I've been busy writing songs, and I finally posted my first original song on YouTube! Allison Merten's "Like They All Did"

I want to go to the recording studio and record this song, but right now, all I have is my electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and a keyboard. I could record with "synthesizer drums," but I'd rather have real instruments in my recording. So, I decided to get a drum set! I know, it's kind of crazy because I have no clue how to play the drums.
But, I'm super excited about it!

Do any of you have advice for a very very very beginner drummer?
